The Two Bills Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Two Bills

Pawnee Bill was the perfect example
Of a guy designed for the Wild West
Born in Illinois he was curious
And decided to make it a quest

He came to the Indian Territory
And soon he became a teacher
But after awhile this man called Bill
Chose entertaining as his best feature

So he put a Wild West show together
By adding a few of his friends
They hit the road after awhile
Because it was a new kind of trend

And then his show merged
With the great Buffalo Bill
Can you imagine the excitement?
To watch them would be a thrill

It sure was exciting back in the day
For a show that had the two Bills
If they were alive today, folks
I’ll bet they would be popular still!
