The Unending War Poem by Michelle Versfeld

The Unending War

Rating: 5.0

With tears of blood in her eyes
she stood before the broken door.
Nothing more had remained
of the ongoing war.

No one cared, no one knew
she was alone and sore.
No one near, no one feared
all the pain alone she bore.

Slowly she turned fron the remains
facing battle a second time.
now her reason to live was gone.
this was her last sign.

As she stood amidst the field
with wounds as black as ice.
She had no where to turn
for satan rolled her dice.

All around her they had fallen
and in the dirt they lay
Souls of death and souls of war
waiting for the judgement day.

No mercy she gave from that day
Nor tear fell from her eye.
Her life has veen nothing worth
built on nothing but lies
