The Universe Is A Womb Poem by John Paul Butler

The Universe Is A Womb

I'm so little more than death
Way too insignificant
Despite my universal mother

The universe is a womb
From which we're never born
Until it's time to die

Loosed from this existence
The physical place
Unleashed into all that's spirit

The universe is a womb
And so we're borne by it and
Then born into death

Loosed from this existence
The mortal place
Unleashed into all that's soul

Or elsewise oblivion
For the universe is a womb
A womb to our death

Or elsewise oblivion
For the universe is a womb
Either way l don't care

Loosed from this existence
The physical place
Unleashed into the ghostly

She is the mother
Of our ruin and our death
But she is mother

Loosed from this existence
The mortal place
Unleashed into all whatever

The universe is a womb
From which we're never born
Until it's time to die
