The Unknown Gift And Fruit Poem by Micer Ambrosius

The Unknown Gift And Fruit

I pray our Lord bless you
fullness upon fullness
which shall come

dear heart!
do not let pain and hurt
be your guide

there is much love
in the depths of your soul;
this is the true teacher

therefrom to understand,
accept, welcome
what is our own;

because of what we cannot yet
grasp, we shall be blessed:
measure beyond measure..

every dropp of blood-soaked
sweat runs down to the dust,
precious in the Lord's sight
if for love's sake - the
Salvation of the Earth
heaven's promise

our tears, our bitter prayer
a sweetness before His Face:
we are overcome, yet He remains,
soft and most close to us
when we must fail

take courage, o heart
that beats for very love
of the true way
which is every man's
hope

suffer we will;
it is the Lord's own
pain we taste,
the cup of His longing
to us

joy too -
unlooked-for

like lightning
shattering the night's
darkened cries
