The Untampered Beauty Poem by Nishi Kumari

The Untampered Beauty

The entire courtyard glimmered with happiness
Witnessing the beauty of a newborn angel
Her bright mesmerizing eyes so little yet so deep
Seized everyone's attention like a captive
Her golden-brown hair and milky skin
Redefined all the verses of beauty one ever knew
Her shine kept blooming as she grew up
Like a flowing river meeting no ends
Getting tired was a challenge while appreciating
her vivid appearance
Words fell short to justify her alluring presence
Her heart, a peaceful homecoming
She felt blessed for the admiration she received
Until she realised how innocent was she
The dark night when the rage of fire burnt everything down
Leaving her alone with her shredded pieces of shine
None felt the necessity to appreciate her again
Broken, she couldn't find meaning in the shallow world
Years passed by and now old is she
Stopped by a stranger with a surprise
"You radiance is still so intact"
Astonished, she smiled, enjoying the sarcasm
He explained at her expression,
"Foolish are those who could never witness
The beautiful heart which beats inside you
Its untarnished untampered ever immortal lustre
Will remain like a fragrance even when your body
Fades away"
She stood there still peaceful like a sea
With the warmth of his words nuturing all her wounds

Selection of unwonted words. Great piece of writing.
