The Violence Of The Past Poem by Hannah Hoy

The Violence Of The Past

Rating: 5.0

If we reap what we sow
And what we sow is violence
Then violence will show
And end all in silence.

From the silence we reap
Our children all fall
Then in the silence we weep
And the violence we stall.

For if we don't stop the violence
There will be no change
For within the silence
We know love has a greater range.

For the past is the past
And it must stay as so
For if we change the past
Then this future must go.

Brave utterances set aside for sober reflection. An insightful piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. Thanks for sharing Hannah.
