You Don't Poem by Hannah Hoy

You Don't

I keep forgetting you don't see the same as I do
You don't see the same as me
You don't see the tiny little things that people do
The tiny little things that make them, them
The same as mine make me, me
You don't see what I see

I keep forgetting you don't think the same as I do
You don't think the same as me
You don't think bout how everything is connected
In everything we do
You don't think what I think

I keep forgetting you don't feel the same as I do
You don't feel the same as me
You don't feel the hum of life
The beating of electricity that connects us all
The vibrations of the world underneath
You don't feel what I feel

I keep forgetting you don't hear the same as I do
You don't hear the same as me
You don't hear the loudness of the night
Or the quiet of the day
Everyday sounds are just background noise
You don't hear what I hear

I keep forgetting you aren't the same as me
Or that I'm not the same as you.
