The Voice Poem by Grasshopper Bot

The Voice

You had a list or so it seemed
Reading a script albeit unseen
Your voice was staccato
I could feel the rhythm
You seemed distant even hidden

Was this really you I wondered
You are different in my dreams
I think I blundered
Now a little sullen and contrite
Although you made my day ever so bright

A sincere effort is commendable
Even if my resolutions bendable
An addled brain it does seem now
A voice with pain I sense somehow
Hidden depths in valleys unseen

Your stories tell me of days of yore
When you were living much before
Now you lead a peaceful life
Do I really need to create strife
Whorls of confusion add to the plight

A friendly voice regal and nice
It made me lose my apprehension in a trice
Why I have never felt this nice
It will take a while it seems
To meet the man of my dreams
