The Voice Of My Addiction Poem by Francis Duggan

The Voice Of My Addiction

It is known all too well that it is not a crime
But it is not a nice feeling to be addicted to rhyme
An addiction that i have often tried for to give away
But a tiny voice within me to me always does say
You cannot quit rhyming at least not today
Though for it you never receive any pay
I am your addiction and i demand of you
That you do obey what i command you to do
Of my presence in your mind you will never be free
For you to quit rhyming you need permission from me
The power over me of the tiny voice i cannot resist
You must keep on rhyming to me it insist
And i do feel powerless so i do obey
The reason i have written this rhyme today.
