The Wall Poem by Kate Bauer

The Wall

I hear secrets from little girls gossiping
I see families falling apart
I wonder if things will ever change,
Or if there will be a change of heart.

I see things that will never be unseen
I hear stories that shouldn't have been told
I smell dinner cooking and I hear children laughing
It makes me wonder, maybe it isn't so bad to be a wall, after all.
