The War Zone Poem by Shakti Jaiswal

The War Zone

Rating: 5.0

If I die in a war zone,
Box me up and send me home.

Put my medals on my chest,
Tell my mom I did my best.

Tell my dad not to bow,
He won't get tension from me now

Tell my bro to study perfectly,
Keys of my bike will be his permanently.

Tell my sis not to be upset,
Her bro will never rise, after this sunset

Tell my love not to cry,
Because I m a soldier born to die

A painful reminder of how our choices, no matter how brave and worthy can hurt the ones we love. Very heartfelt and flowing poem.

Brave utterances set aside for honest contemplation. Beautiful piece of poetry embellished in poetic rhyme and rhythm. Lovely and very insightful. Thanks for sharing Shakti.
