The Warm Heart Poem by Warren Brown

The Warm Heart

I shook hands with Diana as we were leaving
‘You've got cold hands' as I remarked
‘But I've got a warm heart' she said, weaving,
‘Well maybe I should check it out? ' I asked
and made a move to do so…

‘Oh, you never know what you'll find in there' she said
I looked at her - ‘Could be redbacks or other things? '
"Well, I don't really know' she said
"Well, I would need to get behind the shirt to see"
but then the Missus said I had to go……….

Ah well. What if there were nasties in there?
"What happened to your finger Dear? '
‘Bitten on the finger by a Funnel Web'
Which is probably better than being bit on the funnel by a Finger Web!
maybe I ought to go…

Enjoyed the narrative which is more than a reflection on inter-personal relationships. Thanks. You've got cold hands' as I remarked ‘But I've got a warm heart' she said, weaving,
