The Waterfall Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

The Waterfall

Beneath the falls, churning waters furl
Through stoic rocks, so serene the pool
This be the way, this be the place
If so decide to end earthly race
So long rejected upon this earth
From full grown man, back to time of birth
I looked into deep pool serene
A fleeting moment passed my earthly dream
Would it, my body, warmth enfold
Or me it's arms to welcome cold
Who knows just how, where or when
Should I ever live or love again
Agnostic now becoming fast
Discard my teachings of the past
The waters dark and very deep
Could this be my final sleep
Should this I do, or should I not
Would all my cares be forgot
This is my chance, not pass it by
'Tis my decision, do or die
To plunge the depths is what I choose
But either way I'm born to lose
I'm born to lose each way I turn
But still I choose, not life to spurn
