The Way Life Is Poem by Eric Joseph Lopez

The Way Life Is

So I close my eyes as I think about,
Everything said and done.
I feel it moving through my skin,
I fear a parasite has won.
Feel the tears coming out,
Hide it behind a smile.
Feel the bitter taste of blood in my mouth,
As I’m left here to die.

Shift the gear to the unknown,
You know who you are.
Could be anyone,
Live close or far.
But I promise you,
As am holding my hands tight with a fist.
I will find you again,
Someday well we’ll see, not for a hug nor kiss.

Life is what we make of it
As am spitting blood while choking on vomit
But that’s the way life is mess up in every cause
Why I’m going live life again with no remorse
Let down my guard consume this fate
Yea it was nice but left alone to run a race
Oh well what can I say
Sure might start praying again someday

So by the mean time
What’s behind door two should I find?
Take a pick I ask my self
(Hmm sold too the one with a broken mirror)
If everyone knew just how I felt
Said and done it’s all dead
Left scars riddles in my head
Happy days are gone
All but left is a rose….with….broken….thorns.
