The Wicked Man Poem by Randy McClave

The Wicked Man

In his arrogance he does seek
The wicked man hunts down the weak,
Those who are caught in the schemes he devises
They become his followers his prizes.
He boasts about the cravings of his heart
From which he won't leave or depart,
By his followers and worshippers he is adored
He blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him
Never does he pray or worship or sing a hymn,
He believes he should be the only one awed
In all his thoughts there is no room for God.
His ways are always popular and prosperous
And he claims he is just like one of us,
Laws by him are always rejected
By his followers he is believed and protected.
He sneers at all his enemies and his foes
Hate and lies and anger upon them he bestows,
His mouth is full of lies and threats
Trouble and evil are under his tongue with no regrets.
The wicked man doesn't understand how he can be judged
How his name can be mocked and ridiculed and smudged,
He believes that all he does is justified
He has his fun and he believes he will never be penalized.
