The Wide World Poem by Sarah Breanna Andrews

The Wide World

You sit at your bedroom window
Watching the open sky
You never see what is below
Do you wonder why?

I have seen this world below
It’s beautifully big and open
I really think you should go
And see the valley and the glen

Walk down the steps
And out the door
Don’t bother with maps
Just walk some more

Walk ‘til your feet ache
And you can’t feel your toes
You’ll make mistakes
But just go with the flow

And in the end
Your feet will take you
Right back to your bed
And now you know.

This is the big bad world
Wasn’t it beautiful?
Don’t believe all that you’re told
Don’t do anything but be you.
