The Wind Told Me Poem by Alain Ilan Braun

The Wind Told Me

Rating: 5.0

Friend, you ask me
But Who is God?
Do you know the wind
The one that sweeps the plain
That ruffles the trees
Raises the waves
The wind that caresses your face
And inflates your sails
Do you really know Him?
Have you ever seen Him?
Did you ever have seize Him with your bare hands
And placed Him in your trunk?
Of whom is he the slave?
(then would you be his master?)
Who has ever stopped Him?
Where does He come from?
To where is he going?
What is His real name?
What does he say?
Elusive and invisible wind
Blowing powerfully on your soul
Your turn my friend, tell me
Who is God?

Ami, tu me demandes
Mais qui est Dieu?
Connais-tu le vent
Celui qui balaie la plaine
Qui ébouriffe les arbres
Qui soulève les vagues
Le vent qui caresse ton visage
Et qui gonfle ta voile
Le connais-tu vraiment?
L’as-tu jamais vu?
L’as-tu jamais saisi de tes mains nues
Et placé en ton coffre?
De qui est-il l’esclave?
(alors serais-tu son maître?)
Qui l’a jamais arrêté?
D’où vient-il?
Où va-t-il?
Comment se nomme-t-Il vraiment?
Que dit-il?
Insaisissable et invisible vent
Soufflant puissamment sur ton âme
Dis-moi alors à ton tour, mon Ami
Mais qui est Dieu?

Excellent poem, I like the metaphor. The wind from zenith...caressing the pure and vanishing the evil..and this poem is very spiritual.. I like these lines (elusive and invisible wind, Blowing powerfully on your soul) . Top marks...
