The Woman I Adore Poem by Bryan Taplits

The Woman I Adore

The woods are filled with showy blooms
The sky adorned in blue
But there's none like you, my dear-
when you are near-
For your aspect
is my doom.
The luster of large swaths of gold
The sparkle of lost jewels
Are nothing in the sins
you inspire
Of me or other tools.
I wish I were more blind
then the wind or rain or snow
For then-
although less discreet-
I'd see less of you to know.
But long as I should live-
beyond my age and more-
I'll look for you and pine for you,
The woman I adore.
