The Women In Me. Poem by Jimmy Inlow

The Women In Me.

The first of the women in me...
....is
Going places, burning traces,
Making faces, tidy laces.
Bedraggled hair, la grande affaire,
The loving stare, the angry glare.
that's....
My mother, the woman in me.

The next of the women in me.....
....is
Talcum powder, make it louder,
Fuller, rounder, never prouder.
Tresses longest, love is strongest,
A 10? Honest! Hot? No contest!
that's.....
My first love, the woman in me.

The third of the women in me.....
.....is
Décolleté chest, certain what's best,
Hurtful in jest, rarely impressed.
Knife in the wall, out of control,
Made the wrong call, pity us all.
that's.....
My first wife, the woman in me.

The fourth of the women in me......
....is
On the rebound, sound as a pound,
Feet on the ground, real ale beer-hound.
Raucous laughter, courtroom drafter,
Lorn whereafter, friend thereafter.
that's.....
My good friend, the woman in me.

The fifth of the women in me.....
....is
Foreign beauty, persecutee,
Neglected duty, guileless cutie.
Frightful clever, minded ever,
Bygone never, whosesoever.
that's...
My lover, the woman in me.

The sixth of the women in me.....
....is
Fateful error, cold ensnarer,
False declarer, tall-tailbearer.
Double-crossed, my holocaust,
Flossed and tossed, yet dream not lost.
that's....
My nemesis, the woman in me.

The next of the women in me....
.....is
Debauched in bed, breathtaking head,
Crank watershed, bossy airhead.
Scary when riled, guile-fully wild,
Wantonly styled, frivolous child.
that's....
My Squeeze, the woman in me.

The last of the women in me.....
.....is
All transcending, comprehending,
Hard times mending, happy ending.
Fortune favored, each day flavored,
Life now savored, love unwavered.
that's....
My partner, the woman in me.
