The woods filled with life,
flourishing trees and plants,
Animals living in harmony,
songs of the birds filling in,
scent of the recent rain hitting the earth.
The cottage in there,
filled with wild plants,
the old, tired but happy couple.
the warmth within the cold,
the comfort from the pain.
Now the woods are gone,
the beauty it held vanished,
the trees and plants have died and
the songs of the birds are gone,
the earthly scent is no more.
There stands the lone cottage,
surrounded by vines, bushes, and shrubs.
the old, tired couple's gone, present only their soul.
The birds sing here,
the faint earthly scent is here.
A vivid portrayal on the effects of deforestation. Poignant and well conveyed.
