The Words You Choose To Use: No Words Of Advice Poem by Dennis Ryan

The Words You Choose To Use: No Words Of Advice

Wednesday morning, January 18,2023

The words you choose to use—from me you
will get no words of advice. I cannot help you.
You use words including 'I need', 'I can', 'can't',
'I will', 'I might', 'I want', 'I love', and 'I don't love'.
You know. You choose for yourself to make a life,
who, what, when, where, why—whatever the words
of resolution or irresolution happen to be, you
choose them carefully or haphazardly as you
embrace—or not—your destiny. Yes, whatever,
whenever, whoever, wherever, and why and why not.
