The World Ends With A Bang Poem by Samuel Cole

The World Ends With A Bang

Rating: 4.3

The night was silent
He laid out on the peer
Back pressed firmly against the cool stone
The wind was ringing in his ears
It ruffled his clothes
And the moon beat down with its pale yellow gaze

The planes flew in one by one over the lake
Like an angry swarm of stars descending with vengeance on the distant city
But the city's warm glow welcomed the stars

The wind crew stronger and the waves crashed against the shore
The water drew close; closer to him but he didn't move
His back was pressed firmly down on the cool stone
And the moon beat down with its pale yellow gaze

Then one star leapt in front of the others
He was entranced by the rogue star; the brash leader
It hurtled toward the city
But the city welcomed it like all the others before

This star was differnt
A different glow emanated from the city now
An angry red glow
And even though it was a clear night, there was a cloud over the city
And he saw the waves ripping toward him
And he heard the wind gusting in his ears
And he felt a desert air ruffle his clothes
And then it was silent
And the moon beat down with its pale yellow gaze

Silent night whispers to wind and this rings to ear. Stronger waves crashes against the shore and such situation provokes thought. Planes fly over lake. Silently moon beats down with its pale yellow gaze. Silent night gives many feelings. An amazing poem is brilliantly drafted...Rating 10/10.....Welcome to PoemHunter.
