He scans the broad landscape
Like a hunter looks for prey
What is it that stands apart?
At night time or during the day
He loves so much the windmill
It doesn’t matter how it looks
If it is tattered it has character
And is beautiful in John’s book
He loves to take a drive
In the evening or early morn
To get those brilliant pictures
Or a homestead old and forlorn
His trusty red car is there
Awaiting John’s desires
Along with sunsets and sunrises
As he captures natures fire
And the CAT oh yes, my friends
He loves that huge machine
Goes back into his past
Satisfying an engineer’s dream
So there you have my perspective
Of his childhood and beyond
Yes, fascinating as always
The exciting world of John!
