The Worry Poem by Israh Sadan

The Worry

Worry weighs you down
Like sand in a bag.
Sand in your sox
causing discomfort and pain.
Like sand in your hand
seeping through
You can't get a grip
You can't get a hold
Of the worry as it seeps
through your fingers
and falls around your feet.
The worrry won't stop and
to move makes it worse.
It wells up around your feet,
your ankles, you're knee deep
And the worry is overwhelming
walling you in.
The worry keeps working
Like sand that keeps hurting,
till it washes you away.
That's what worry can do.
It can bury you.
