The Write Light Poem by lee robin thomas

The Write Light

I turned to black while washing
then from above came the whitest light
the guards must be on duty
the silent watchers
the invisible archers
with their pens and papers
counting counting

they must travel very far from clouds
I saw them up there once or twice
looking down on me with serious eyes
and I saw the shadow-couples rise
from their beds they ascend
how high do they float
and do they stay a while

in the sky it is a numbers game
its who has the most men
who can be deployed and when
half and whole and tall and small
they must have training camps, discussions
but these men on earth with dark hearts
creating illnesses that infect children
they must be counted the most
and assessed

sometimes I get given work to do
energy battles and things
I suppose it is a lesson in morals
sometimes i feel heat
its healthy
the seers see
and they give warmth
I must have done something good once
the guards guard my treasures

soon they say it shall be the last days
I think about a full moon at christmas
it could be the day
and will the watchers finally get some time off
can they just relax
once the darkest souls are placed in cages
once children can walk the streets at night
imagine it
safety for 3000 years
healing cities

I shall get my dreams
you shall too if you have surrendered
listen to the shining birds
listen to the golden leaves
hear the words of peace
put hay under your pillow
put salt behind you
and rearrange your books
for soon a new sermon
the final words of truth
from the book I shall find
