Last season,
this boy that plays cricket.
This boy was a keeper,
but was only young.
On the field,
we call him Di Mieri;
he was keeping,
he caught the winning wicket.
This was no ordinary catch,
this was an amazing catch;
it was a huge dive,
straight to ‘second slip'.
He could be you,
he could be me.
Great poem could be expanded into positions realized in sports games captured in poetry. Opens up a whole poetry subject and discipline. Cool.

I don't know much about cricket, but if you do, keep writing about it. Poets should write what they know. A good start for this site. Welcome to Poem Hunter!
