Their Love Is Not The Same Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Their Love Is Not The Same

Rating: 5.0

It's a shame
Their Love is not the same
One heart is mellow
The other laced with pain

One heart is so pure
The other so broken
It needs the other's cure
So abandoned and insecure

One heart never felt much sorrow or pain
The other crushed, time and again
It's no longer the same
Love has left an indelible stain

One heart loves carefree
Comes and goes
As if love is just a passing game
No two players ever play the same

The other heart seeks its other half
Like a lonely note upon a staff
Can't make any music alone
And has forgotten how to laugh

One heart is carefree
The other is taking this last chance
One is a wallflower
The other is full of dance

One heart breaks in two
When it feels the other cry
But the other heart doesn't understand
Continues on, while the other's left alone to die

One dream of castles and fairies
The other's castles always turn into sand
One dreams only of love true
The other has an appointment to get tanned

One would give up anything for love
The other won't break a sweat
One can shrug it off
The other can only feel broken and upset

And here's the thing to realize
when you put your heart into the game
When you use the word LOVE, realize
Their LOVE is not the same

Unless you find your twin
Among vast endless fields of flowing grain
Instead of love you might again find pain
But somewhere a perfect matching heart feels just the same
