There Is A Dream Somewhere Inside Of You Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

There Is A Dream Somewhere Inside Of You

A young father loved his little boy
His mother loved him too
The took joy in him and nurtured him
and watched him as he grew

The little boy saw his dad go to work each day
While he was left to wonder and to play
He wondered where he went
And why he had to go away

The Dad in his loving way would say
I have to work each day for pay
To care for you and provide for you
that is just the way

The boy did grow
and as he did he'd often ask
because he wanted to know
What will the my purpose be for what I do?

The father only said, in time you'll know
the answer wlll eventually ring true
You have to find out for yourself
The answer is somewhere inside of you

As the boy became a young man
His heart filled with fear and doubt
The answer had not come to him
He was still without

He met a girl along the way
she touched his heart in a special way
He fell in love
But she she did not stay

Broken hearted he asked his dad about love
His dad said there is little I can do
You are bound to follow the heeart
That God placed inside of you

Lost and lonely the young man drifted
His spirits sank so low and never lifted
His mother cried to see him sad
She gave to him every ounce of care she had

One day he came upon a woman crying
She was so low she felt like dying
He stopped along his way to comfort her
At least its clear he was trying

She realized how much his care meant
she cherished every bit that he lent
She regarded him as Heavensent
Such a good heart had this kind gent

She kissed him to show her care
He felt her warmth and life felt more fair
He felt inside a spark of grace
That blossomed into a smile upon his face

The two became so close, like one
The shared tender moments
and had so much fun
they had a ton

As time went by the kindness spread
Happiness abounded and everybody said
Those two are in love it seems
The type of love found only in dreams

He had a passion for guitar
He had some simple dreams
That seemed so unrealistic and so far
But she nurtured him as if he were her star

One day he played his song on a stage
People felt his passion and not his age
He broke out of his inner cage
He pursued his dreams and began to write it's next page

One day his father died
The son came home and cried
He felt so lost inside
She consoled him, she tried

At the funeral mass
He played his dad a special song
it touched the heart's of the throng
Noted this life as passing and not so long

And even though his dad was dead
The sun remembered all the words he ever said
and all the love he ever had
And the boy smiled to recall, though he was sad

The father only said, in time you'll know
the answer wlll eventually ring true
You have to find out for yourself
The answer is somewhere inside of you

She confided to him something new
She whispered 'I'm expecting'
You're going to be a father too
Then inside...he suddenly knew

Eveything rang true!
