To see a friendly face

Someone to help me find my place

There are times when I need
Someone to ease my pain
There are times when I need
To come in out of the rain

There are times when I need
To try and find some hope
There are times when I need
To find a way to cope

There are times when I need
To just talk with you
There are times when I need
Guidance on what to do

There are times when I need
To have a word with God
There are times when I need
To let Him know life can be hard

There are times when I need
To laugh a little more
There are times when I need
To greet you at my door

There are times when I need
To tell my life's story
There are times when I need
To be less accusatory

So you see there are times
When everyone needs an assist
There may even come a time
When you wonder why you exist
