There Is A Righteous Anger Poem by Raymond Farrell

There Is A Righteous Anger

There is a righteous anger
That must burn
In the heart and soul
Of everyone
Who sees children abused
Or going hungry and naked
This anger must not be
Extinguished by rationalizing
Appeased by empty promises
Or soothed by ill-conceived platitudes
And misinterpreted scriptures
Offered by the elite
Bent on continuing the status quo
It must burn up, up
Until it becomes a consuming flame
That fills us with passion
So we can be moved together
To offer succor and aid
To these innocent victims.
