There Is Nothing To Be Gained Poem by Raymond Farrell

There Is Nothing To Be Gained

Rating: 5.0

There is nothing
To be gained
By dressing
This pig up
In a silk gown
And putting
A pearl necklace
Around its neck
Then appropriating
All the adjectives
In the dictionary
In praise
Of the same
In a vain effort
To extoll
The virtue
Of irresponsibly
Exercising one's right
To commit
Every sin in the Book
Have at it, I say
I'll not stand in your way
But it never ceases
To amaze me
That those
Who having indulged
In wanton wreckless pleasure
If they suffer
Some unwanted side effect
Feel everyone else
Is obligated
To immediately dig
Into their pockets
And help them
Pay the sin tax.
