There's Never Been

There's Never Been

You see, I fell in love when I was younger
she was the love of my life, blonde and blue.
Then time took it's toll, God rest her soul
I was left here alone with nothing to do.

I've been adrift lost in life's ocean
Searchin' for something that I've never known.
As I reach for tomorrow, I'll bury these sorrows
Can't live in the past for Yesterday is gone.

There's never been a candle light dinner
In a rich fancy place for a party of two.
There's never been no bed of roses
where we rolled in the pedals, like some lovers do.

Time is against me and I'm getting older
I am missing those things that I never did do.
If given the chance I'd love to dance
on a beach with a sunset with somebody new.

This dreamer keeps dreaming time and again
thinking of things that never have been.

Excellent writing and so beautiful thoughts, a tinge of hope in the last lines.
