There Was A Rain Last Night Poem by Juan Olivarez

There Was A Rain Last Night

There was a rain last night,
That washed all the grime away.
And now the Earth is fresh and bright,
It's a most lovely day.

The wind is cool and a little mist,
Blows gently through the trees.
All the Earth it must have kissed,
And left a kiss for me.

The sidewalks all are shining bright,
Like mirrors on the ground.
A fresh Autumn morning, a true delight,
No face could hold a frown.

The grass is wet, with drops of rain,
And slowly starts to stand.
Back up from where it once had lain,
To witness a rebirth of the land.
