There Will Be No Solace There Poem by Ajaegbu Charles

There Will Be No Solace There

There the voice went hesitant
And the words were rounded murmur
Echoed silently through the scared wall
To feed on tears
Yet to be shared in broken hearts
At a graveyard of lost souls

Here the escapade might
Altogether be fitting and
Overwhelming by conflicts and tragedy
Shoulders laden on the brisk of faith
Guided by devotion, navigated by love
To arrive fresh and bright
At the very feet of pain and sorrow
Then foreshadow the courage of fortitude and happiness

Across aghast beauty of pain and sorrow
Across the bridge the sun shines
Across the river in silver stars
Across, across, across
Across posed real happiness and true love
Across unites to depart no more
Swiftly spanning the distance
Between God and man
