These Demons Poem by River Jordan

These Demons

These demons in my head,
screaming and banging on their cage.
Harder and harder as days go,
trying my best to keep it locked tight.

These demons are hard to control,
they're manipulative and controlling.
Saying they are all I got,
not letting me do anything.

'Slit your wrists' they say,
'Let yourself bleed dry' they add.
They tell me to do things,
they make me hurt myself.

The call me names,
like 'useless', 'ugly', 'fat', and 'stupid'.
Again repeating them to me,
like an order or code to remember.

These demons are threatening,
i tell them its not true.
But deep i know so it is,
crying but outside smiling.

I'm slowly going insane,
they're all i have.
Can't leave them,
nor hurt them.
