They Call To Me Poem by Ankoku Gekido

They Call To Me

Rating: 4.5

May 26,2009

The tiny splashes of color
Blue
Orange
White
They all slide down my throat.
The tiny pills
Vicodin.
Codeine.
Ibuprofen.
Aspirin.
They call to me,
They tell me they can make it all go away
Make me forget my worries.
My pain
Both physical and emotional
Will just fade away.
Take it away,
This call from the pills.
I have my pain killer.
My addiction.
He stands by my side no matter what.
He makes me forget my pain.
So why then am I hearing this call?
