They Judge Me By My Past Poem by Janid Kashmiri

They Judge Me By My Past

I try to be kind and sincere each day,
Yet they judge me by my past, pushing me away.

Every step I take, they question and doubt,
My every truth, they twist and flout.

The mistakes I made, they belong to yesteryear,
But they overshadow the good, making it unclear.

I speak from my heart, with honesty and grace,
Yet they see lies in every word, every trace.

I seek a new path, a future bright and clear,
But they bind me to shadows, fueling my fear.

Each day I strive to be better, to heal and mend,
But their judgments cut deep, again and again.

The weight of honesty is a heavy toll,
Their harsh words burden my soul.

I try to be kind and sincere each day,
Yet they judge me by my past, pushing me away.
