Things Nobody Said Poem by Jessica Thomas

Things Nobody Said

No one told me it'd be easy
Nobody said this would be fun
I never thought I'd be the one
Who'd lounge about until life was done
No one said everyday is great
Maybe that's why I seethe with hate
Getting away from reality is my goal
My selfish acts will take their toll
And I'll end up without a soul
Nobody told me I'd always stay calm
My anger explodes like an atomic bomb
Yet no one told me to stay mad
Nobody said I'd always be sad
I remember the chances I never had
No one told me that I had it good
Nobody said that they understood
Still I hoped they never would
So I made my promise to never hide
Because my loving God is on my side
And to him I could never lie.
