Think! - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Impotent or uncaring
Otherwise, nonexistent
In each case, not any help
No excuses
As millions of children agonizingly die
While your prayer for a nice job gets answered
Not for us to second guess?

Topic(s) of this poem: insanity, life

There is no human justice, nor what some call divine.
We look up to the heavens
Thinking that there God we'll find
And all we get are meteorites
That don't clear out our mind.

Organized religion, like politics fills its unsavory roll of wanting only to control. Religion does it through fear
and false promises and so does politics. Brothers of the Mafia.
Glad you wrote this poem Kelly but I liked your comment for Souren even better.
It so explains the Universal trick and lies,6000 years old, as far as we know.
And yet can we be sure we are orphans, all alone?

I agree, we can be good, without Santa watching over us but most people need bridles, they can't be left on their own or they run wild, the dropping of morals, instigated by certain political parties is a good example. Education is not enough to control our lower instincts and bad ways.

The universe is a big place. I am all but certain that we aren't alone. I don't relish bursting people's bubbles, mine was intact at one point in my life. We are born into an altered state of consciousness (Being forced into believing there is a god) When rational thought takes hold, it is a whole different state. Ethics and morals don't disappear, we just behave because it is the intelligent thing to do, not because we fear hell, or more crazily; god. We can be good without Santa watching over us.

Height of selfishness......Everybody thinks what we want we should get for others let them struggle....Thought provoking poem, Mr. Kelly. (Report) Reply

If prayers get answered, they should all be for peace, ends to hunger and disease and other global benefits. Anyone who prays for a petty, selfish gain is about as unholy as one can be.

Screw prayers! If someone really want to make a difference they should go and actually DO something that requires some effort rather than sitting at home or going to Churches, Temples, Mosques or whatever and request their imaginary friend to somehow magically solve all problems of the world... Thanks for sharing Kelly... (Report) Reply

Exactly Kelly.. Everytime I try to pull off a rational argument, I get 'God works in mysterious ways'! What? ? This planet took billions of years to come to what it is today. And they say it's a few thousand years old. There's always is some sort of a freaking problem with an ideology that remains stagant for centuries.6000 years old? ? Damn what about the bloody fosils? People say no to vaccination, blood transplant, and GOD knows what! In India we have had millions of cases of polio, and some won't let their kids get vaccinated for 'religious reasons'.. WTF? ? I don't have problem with someone going around and saying they believe in a make believe blah blah, but the organisation would ask for money.. Any religious institution has like millions of dollars in the name of charity. They are agains everything progressive, misogynists, homophobic, racist, castists (in India many lower castes are not allowed to enter a religious place, but yup, they can donate for sure!) .. Bloody hell, charlatans. That's it.. Fake, stupid, and ridiculous. Vaccination causes autism. What logic! I agree with you Kelly, the moment we better start taking these mythical stuff less seriously, the better we would make progress...

I knew you would understand this, Souren. There is no god! If it did exist, it either cannot stop the death of children or it does not care. No mysterious ways, no man made rationalization. I am not badmouthing anyones god. That would be impossible because god does not exist. It was made up by superstitious, iron age people and perpetuated through centuries by ignorance, laziness, stupidity, stubbornness and indoctrination by families and society from the day we are born. Most people would say that to believe in Zeus, or Santa for that matter, would be insane but don't stop for a second to see how utterly ridiculous it is to believe in some all powerful white haired man in the sky that has never directly revealed himself and purposely allows bastards to have idyllic lives while allowing the innocent to
suffer to degrees that most of us can't even imagine. All while rationalizing it with assinine statements like; Who are we to question god's will? Or it is his plan. HIS PLAN! ! ? ? ? ? ! To allow 9 million children to die before the age of 5 every year. To allow millions of Jews to die in the holocaust. To allow tsunamis and other natural disasters to wipe out hundreds of thousands. To allow every person that doesn't happen to belong to the right religion to spend eternity in hell. A god that not just approves of but demands slavery, subjegation of women, human sacrifice and a myriad of truly insane and evil acts. Thousands of gods are worshipped on this planet every day. Each worshipper believes that his/her god is the true one and that all other people are infidels and their gods false.he sooner we eliminate the concept of a god and the equally insidious concept of religion, the sooner this planet and its occupants can move to the next phase of our evolution.

It is all me, me, me these days. 'The west' spend billions $ on nuclear weapons and even Black Friday, more than the GDP in some poor countries. We eat our turkeys and turn a blind eye on the rest of humanity. Good poem Kelly (Report) Reply

And all the time believing that supplication to the imaginary will take care of things. Thanks, David

It is both and neither. To believe that some One has control is either crazy or uninformed
