Think Of Me[2] Poem by Gert Strydom

Think Of Me[2]

Think of me
when the rays of the sun
put its first fingers
over the horizon
and a new day
without you in it
arrives for me.

Think of me
when the moon
pale white greets the night
and shrinks behind clouds
and I am somewhere else
away from you
and we can only still meet
in dreams.

Think of me
when the darkness
folds its arms around me
and the eternal sleep
pacifies me away
because I love you
without it ever ending.
