Thirst For My Voice Poem by me poet yeps poet

Thirst For My Voice

At times silence
is appreciated
much more than noise

so I always remain silent
as I am now deaf
others hate
my raising my voice

they don't know
silent folks
don't realise
they are deaf
others are not so

they yell at the top of their voice
breaking all silence

some yell get out of here
go to HELL....

But O poet friend

YOUR SILENCE
IS SO SOFT AND SWEET
Do ACCEPT MY NOISE
WHEN, IF EVER WE DO MEET

promise me your disgust
you will silently eat

I like the title of this poem. If you choose your words and themes carefully, readers will indeed thirst for your voice. And ears are not needed to read and appreciate the poetry of others. Not hearing well can be a blessing - being unable to hear the daily unpleasant din of life. Great poem!
