bait me on this day
on each and every sidewalk
crack I so shall step
breaking mirrors petting cats
black walking under ladders
Got a great kick out of this poem, M.J.! Superstition is so prevalent that some buildings don't have the #13 on elevators in North America. And in some other cultures, they don't label the respective floor with the unlucky number. How crazy is that!
Too true, Richard. And I am always amazed by objects that some find ordinary are turned into bessels of great superstitious meaning by others. Humans...we are an odd group. Thanks so much for reading, Richard.
