This Fire Is Just False Poem by Brando De La Cruz

This Fire Is Just False

With the fire about to start,
I saw up high, and there were the stars.
I put more wood in, the fire was going.
As the heat rise, so did your name,
It screamed, and scream in my head.
I sat there paralyzed,
I wanted to know why,
Why is it that your name was on my mind?
You were there, and you are there,
I can't forget you, I just can't.
I want to be next to you,
Keeping you in my arms, feeling the warmth,
Like I did in front of the fire.
As the heat rise, you were there,
As I got warm your name was there.
All I'm trying to say is,
Your name is in my head.

And I on your way,
I'll move aside, get cold,
And forget your name was there.
Because this fire is just false,
I forgive you for trying to make me love you,
But I don't deserve you.
Dear friend I must say good-bye,
Even though, I hate to lie.
