This Forgotten Face Poem by rachel smailliw

This Forgotten Face

Though I saw you everyday,
You were never there
You always had the time
The time for all but me.
Me your daughter
Remember this face?
This face you have forgotten
Perhaps just another face in a crowd
This crowd crowding your space.
The space for all but me.
Remember this face?
This face filled with anguish
This agony of the forgotten
Please remember me.
Please remember this forgotten face.

I have the exact same problem, Rachel. My dad lives thirty minutes away from me, has a new wife, and a little boy now. I haven't seen him in seven years. I know how you feel. Keep writing, Rachel. Someday he'll realize and miss what all he's left behind. I promise. Great job<3. -Jessica Beal

This had to have been written by a daughter to a father. Girls really have a craving for a father that is hard to explain. I think fathers have the most important affect on a girls life than anyone else. She looks to him for something she really needs. She looks to him for her value. GW62
