This Is Not My World Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

This Is Not My World

Rating: 5.0

This is not my world;
The land freedom is tied both hands and legs
And refused not to speak
Nor walk freely like every other creatures
Injustice is allowed on the field of play
To govern sane individuals
Wisdom abhor over ignorance
This is not my world;
Where morality is banned in place of uncivility
Silence employed to shut numerous mouths
And as many that have been known to be outspoken
Deceit enjoyed in the absence of truth
Humanity plundered to the ground
Men and women hunger for war
Instead of peaceful co-existence
Leaders barely hearken to the poor
This is not my world;
Where there's no feelings for the vulnerable
Hunger knocks at doors of many
There in the house of the elites dogs are fed like human
In convoys the heads of the state run errand
Cheered the corners of the cities
Banquet weekly observed
In commemoration of undeserved victory
When the street is grip with unending fright
Eyes wet of coming doom.
