This Life Poem by Sharbaniranjan Kundu

This Life

I have had a tough life so far.
I can not imagine I shall have an easier ever.
The time has passed.
The momentous moments will never come by again.
You will say I am getting my share all right.
How come?
One so innocent,
one so honest,
how goodies can pass him by!
Why my share of life be just this morsel
and not the cake
I can not imagine could never have been
for what curse?
What brought me betwixt all those people
I could not make myself to like or love?
My precious life I thought was for a purpose
other than the affectations I am subjected to
by the rotten and mean and self-seeking people.
Alas! Your life is crowded with so much inconsequentialities
that you are baffled
why your parents
or is it God!
brought you to this earth in the first place!
But this life must be lived
without thinking that you will be born again
without losing your Dharma, your creed
and whatever else you hold precious.
Om. Amen. Allaha.
