This new, crushed velvet
decadence of the rich and
famous concerns me.
It seems to shield them
from bitter realities.
When the poor have to rely
on foodbanks, then we
should know something is amiss.
We should be bridging
gaps, not widening the jaws
of a financial
abyss, which many are now
falling into like
battered lambs to the slaughter.
