This Summer Moon I Saw Poem by Haiqing Hua

This Summer Moon I Saw

This summer moon I saw
Oliver Hua, May 29,2018, Toronto

This summer moon I saw
It is the brightness over the vast expanses of this sky
It reflects an ancient artwork carefully sculpted
A pure white jade from Han dynasty
It has the same color of China

This summer moon I saw
It has shined up my River South
A beautiful scenery of my River South
The same moonlights as poem as water
It reflects a night of this mortal world as a song

This summer moon I saw
It is the insects flying up and down with this moonlight
So short and small, but they are lives too
They also exhausted their efforts of their whole life
What has accomplished but a process from birth to death

This summer moon I saw
This summer moon I thought only can be seen in my home country
It suddenly rose up in this foreign land
This summer moon is so graceful and restrained
A summer moon can be accomplished not only in the autumn
