It is a strange creature this thing known as pride
From birth until death to the ego it is tied
Proud of your children and proud of your wife
And so very proud of your successful life
Proud of your home and your new family car
And so very proud of the person you are
Proud of your Country and your Country's flag
All of this to you is worth a good brag
Proud of the fact yours is the one true god
Those who believe different to you must be odd
Proud of your job promotion of late
So much in your life for you to celebrate
And proud of the person you have turned out to be
Though all in all you seem egotistical to me.
