This World - Poem by Michaelpoetry Ryan
Since I was a little boy, I wondered if this world
would bring me grief or bring me joy, would bring that special girl
who'd steal my heart and make me smile to think about her face.
And when I started to walk those miles, it seemed a better place
than when I wondered long ago if she would cause my heart to glow.
And so, it goes almost without saying that when I find her on that day
my boyish heart with all its playing will love this world, come what may.
This world is the world I live in. And only once, my heart is given
to that special, sun-filled girl. I am the moon. This is my world.
